How to Monetize Facebook -- powered by ehow
Hi. I'm Robbin Block. I'm a marketing strategist. I help small businesses make good decisions about their marketing by understanding the role it plays in their businesses. Today we're going to talk about how to monetize Facebook or actually how to sell things. So there's a native app that comes with Facebook that you can add and it will allow you to sell items from your Facebook page directly.
The first thing you're going to want to do is log into your Facebook account and look down the left hand side of the page and select the apps center. And you'll see all kinds of apps you can add. But we want to search for the Marketplace app. So we go to the search box in the upper left. What you're going to want to do is type Marketplace in the search for apps box at the top. So we're going to type in Marketplace and as you can see Marketplace is right there.
Click on that and this app will allow you to sell products right from your Facebook. And you can look for products too actually. So you're going to go to the app. Once there if you want to sell something all you have to do is click on post and a box will open and it will allow you to post your listing. So you could say, I don't know, marketing research report. Why are you posting it, because we have excess inventory and then you would describe the report in any way you like. You could add a photo, you could add a video even, you can select categories of where it fits, merchandise, services, whichever you like.
And then you could put your price or you could say best offer. But in most business cases you would have a price. Or it could even be free if you give something away. And that's pretty much it. And you hit the post button. Now there are other ways to sell products on Facebook as well. One is if you already have an Ecommerce website, there are tools you can use that will give you a widget or some kind of code you plug into your Facebook page that will allow you to sell directly from your Facebook page.
There's one that I'm familiar with called Ecwid and they actually have a tool that allows you to add a store directly to your Facebook page. So you might want to check that one out as well. So there are several ways to sell products on your website. And that's a lot different than just using Facebook to drive traffic to your website to sell your services. So you might want to think about how you can integrate Facebook and Ecommerce together and sell more product. I hope you found that helpful. To learn more
